Personal Injury law is based on the right of a person to be justly compensated for a wrongful injury to their property or their person whether in the form of a physical, mental or financial injury. Personal injury law is primarily based on the issue of a “tort” and is considered a civil wrong recognized as grounds for a lawsuit.

Assault and battery, trespass, invasion of privacy, defamation, fraud, international infliction of emotional distress also fall into this category. Misconduct by a tortfeasor can result in recoverable damages including both present and future losses of earning capacity, pain and suffering and reasonable medical expenses.
